A New Trend Of Turning Blind Eye: Additional Charges To Subtle Ignorance

An order issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs(MHA) sparked a new trend of sidelining IPS officers, top sources say. The order was in regard of filling the vacant ADG posts in CAPFs. Surprisingly, the incumbent IGs posted in the CAPFs were promoted to ADG rank to fill three vacant ADG level posts despite three to four names were already reflecting in the offer list. In usual practice, the offer list gets some amount of currency while filling up the vacancy but the orders certainly forced power corridors to do some minute reading. Earlier, the case of turning a blind eye was limited by giving additional charges and setting parachute landings. However, this time a bulky offer list has been sidelined. Is there a "trust deficit or working style deficit" IPS officers in the offer list wonders. Though the names may soon be placed at the center, however, questions have gone beyond the delay or additional charge factor and snowballed into a subtle ignorance by the top brass. Top sources say that as DG appointments are expected anytime soon, a DG rank officer may get a subtle ignorance by the South Block despite being in the offer list. "The pain of being ignored is not much hurting to IAS officers as it hurts to an IPS officer, we have seen B.V.R Subranamyam surprisingly getting removed and later getting placed in NITI Aayog as its CEO and a few other cases of senior IAS officers follow" top sources in power corridors discussed.
