Amid Race for CAPF DGs, Many In Line For Second and Third In Command
As CAPF DGs appointment is expected to be out anytime soon, the race for taking the second and third in command in CAPFs has also begun. At present, there is one post of ADG level, and seven IG level posts are vacant in BSF. One Special Director post in CBI and 1 Special Director post in IB is vacant. The SD post in IB might see an increase after one Special Director is most likely to move out at the DG post in the center. Similarly, in CBI, few Special Directors are either retiring or moving out which might lead to a slight rise in vacancy at the SD level in CBI. In Intelligence Bureau, six Joint Director posts are vacant. In CRPF six IG level posts are vacant. Interestingly, ITBP is full at the top but has seven DIG-level posts vacant. However, SSB has a vacuum at the top and good numbers vacant at the bottom, eleven DIG-level posts are vacant in SSB. Whereas, CISF, NSG, and NPA are mostly filled as far as their mid to high-level hierarchy is concerned except NPA chief, who is going to retire next month. The names who are in line for second and third in command are also quite interesting and tough competition is from Uttar Pradesh, top sources say. From UP, B.K Singh is lobbying hard for CRPF. Whereas for the ADG level, the names of Renuka Mishra and Sandeep Salunke are leading for BSF. Two more names Brighu Srinivasan from Bihar and Norang from Assam Meghalaya are also leading for ADG posts. However, the situation of ADG level vacancy in CAPFs is quite tight and chances of more vacancy at the ADG level in CAPFs are quite slim. Therefore, it is possible that anyone from race may surprisingly head to either IB or CBI. However, creation of new posts or post upgradation policies might come into play if it becomes hard to adjust the names in CAPF or agencies. Sources suggest.
