BSF's Eastern Command Chief Sumit Sharan Briefs Bengal Governor On Border Security
The chief of BSF's Eastern Command/ADG Sumit Sharan IPS briefed the West Bengal Governor on the status of Bangladesh border security and the BSF's role and deployment in the forthcoming elections for the Legislative Assembly of West Bengal. The Governor appreciated the BSF's preparedness. In view of the state's past history of rampant poll-related political violence, the Governor underscored the need to instil confidence among the common people and to ensure strong deterrence against unlawful elements. Additional DG BSF assured their full commitment to ensuring free and fair elections.
