Earlier, the currents of this fight was limited to the political sphere and IAS officers had to face its spillovers. However, the currents are now transcending into the bureaucratic sphere and now IAS officers are in the direct line of fire, top sources say. The papers which usually gets communicated to higher-ups are quite controversial which if gets cleared then the chances of an IAS officer getting into a protracted crosshair is almost guaranteed.
