CM Delhi inaugurates four days NDMC Flower Festival at Central Park, Connaught Place, New Delhi

Chief Minister of Delhi – Smt. Rekha Gupta today inaugurated the 4-day Flower Festival organised by New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) at Central Park, Connaught Place, New Delhi, in the presence of Chairman, NDMC, Keshav Chandra IAS and Vice Chairman, NDMC, Kuljeet Singh Chahal, Council Member - Anil Valmiki and Secretary, NDMC, Rahul Singh IAS.After inaugurating the NDMC Flower Festival, Delhi Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta said that there was a time when Delhiites used to travel to Kashmir for tulips. But now, the NDMC is bringing a bloom of tulips to Delhi every year, which Delhiites are thoroughly enjoying and taking selfies with tulips. This Tulip Festival has become a selfie festival for Delhiites.

She said that in the month of Phalgun, New Delhi is abuzz with colourful flowers, and the NDMC has organised a festival of selected flowers in the Central Park of Connaught Place. This atmosphere is both joyful and refreshing. She said that every gardener of the NDMC cannot be praised enough for their efforts. After appreciating the efforts of NDMC, she said that with the efforts of the NDMC's Horticulture Department, the entire city of New Delhi is blooming with colourful flowers.The Chief Minister said that other institutions and departments of Delhi should also learn a lot from these efforts of NDMC and make every area of Delhi green and colourful with flowers. Delhi is the capital of the country; it is our collective responsibility to make it beautiful so that the beautiful image of our city spreads across the world. A beautiful picture of Delhi should reach not only the country but also abroad. She said that if one area of Delhi can bloom with flowers, then the rest of the areas can also bloom. We just need to work together for this.

NDMC Chairman Keshav Chandra said that on this occasion, it has been a long-standing tradition of the NDMC to decorate New Delhi with colourful flowers during the month of Phalgun, coinciding with the arrival of Holi. In line with this tradition, an exhibition of selected flowers is also held in the Central Park of Connaught Place. The employees and officers of the NDMC's Horticulture Department work tirelessly to achieve this. Every employee and officer of the Horticulture Department is committed at every level to ensure New Delhi remains green and flower-filled, meeting world-class standards.

Kuljeet Singh Chahal stated that whether it was the G-20 Summit or the recent AI Summit, the New Delhi Municipal Council Horticulture Department, through its dedicated efforts, has significantly enhanced the prestige of the nation’s capital in the eyes of visiting foreign dignitaries. He emphasised that under the visionary leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji and in line with his vision of Viksit Bharat @2047, NDMC has consistently ensured that New Delhi reflects India’s cultural richness, environmental consciousness, and commitment to excellence. He further added that the tireless work of the Horticulture Department has transformed the city into a vibrant floral landscape this season, with colourful displays adorning key avenues, parks, and public spaces—filling every corner with beauty and fragrance for both international visitors and residents, and showcasing a greener, more sustainable New Delhi aligned with the Prime Minister’s vision.NDMC Flower Festival is open for all till Friday (06th March, 2026), and entry will be free, where the flower lovers can enjoy the live show of blooming nature and feel the beauty of the flowers.

NDMC is organising this Flower Festival with 48 different varieties of flowers in more than 15,500 potted plants, which are displayed in 18 sections. The main attraction of the NDMC Flower Festival is the Group of Flowering potted plants of different seasons, such as Dahlia, Petunia, Pansy, Salvia, Marry Gold, etc.NDMC Flower Festival also includes the Floral Figures of Animals / Birds, Colourful Floral Boards, Tray Gardens, Big Size Hanging Baskets, Terrarium, Flower arrangements like Ikebana, Eastern & Western style. The park will welcome all with scintillating floral structures, which include Pyramid, Heart Shape, Selfie Points, Conical Floral Structure, Floral Cylinder, etc. In the centre of the park, there will be a musical fountain with colourful lighting in the evening.
