Upadhyay is a prime contender to head a crucial division in Delhi Police. Sources say that most likely Upadhayay will replace a face in Law and Order Division or any other crucial post in Delhi Police. The reasons are also quite convincing- G20 is around the corner Delhi Police especially the specialized divisions and Law and Order division are burning the midnight oil in running thousands of security scans and leaving no stone unturned in covering all fundamentals in preparing for G-20.
