Did MHA Throw Cold Water on IPS Officers In DG Race: Juniors To Take Lead?
In a significant development in the power corridors, it has been learned that a few DG rank officers who were in the race for DG rank in the center have now taken a soft exit. With the exit of seniors only one IPS officer remains for DG rank- Renuka Mishra of the 1990 batch. Surprisingly, 87, 88, and 89 are out of the race, top sources say. Perhaps, MHA decided to throw some cold water on these IPS officers because they now hardly have around six months, and putting them to DG rank for six months only doesn't seem to suit top brass. Their juniors- the 1990 batch have now been elevated to DG rank and have considerable time in hand. However, the question here is that was this cold treatment with seniors was right? at least some of them did deserve good sendoffs, one top source say that seniors were waiting for their turn for almost a year, "it was the MHA who delayed and kept them on hold, and due to time constraints they might have become a non-effective choice for DG rank". On the other hand, the 1990 batch appears to be seizing the opportunity to become the next bosses of crucial organizations. However, some say that it won't be too easy for the 1990 batch to pave a clear way for them, there are still some strong contenders of the 1988 and 89 batch sitting at the DG and ADG rank pushing hard for top jobs. The reasons for possible cold water could be attributed to the recent incident of the 1989 batch IPS showing dissatisfaction with HM or it could be anything else. Whatever may be the case, a few things are quite clear now- First, 1988-1989 batch are now towards their end and only a few might make it if things surprisingly go well for them. Second- a quite surprising rise of 1990 batch cutting through seniors.
