Exclusive: Dark Horse Emerges for Chairman NDMC, Gyanesh Bharti Set For Cadre Comeback As A&NI Chief Secretary

The appointment of Keshav Chandra as Secretary, Ministry of Mines, has set off a wave of intense lobbying among UT cadre IAS officers, particularly within the Delhi Government, for the post of  Chairman of NDMC.  According to top sources, the race for NDMC Chairman is now down to the wire, with indications that an AGMUT cadre officer currently posted outside the Delhi Government is the frontrunner for the post.

Meanwhile, in another significant development, sources indicate that Gyanesh Bharti, an AGMUT cadre IAS officer presently on central deputation, is most likely to be called back to cadre and most likely be appointed Chief Secretary, Andaman & Nicobar Islands (A&NI), after incumbent Chief Secretary Chandra Bhushan Kumar was recalled to Delhi last month for a central deputation.
