WITC
Sanjay Kundu's two-year stint at the helm of HP Police significantly transformed the force. With almost back-to-back national level accolades and praises from all the corners, HP police won the third position(All India) in Inter-Operatable Criminal Justice System. The award was received from Union Mos Home Ajay Mishra at NCRB's conference. The ICJS comprises a significant aspect of policing, How professional and effective a police force is gets known by its investigative skills, presentation in courts, and conviction rate. Police's effectiveness has always been put to test during trials. If a police force gets maximum success in securing good conviction rates then that police force tends to be near to being called high on professional and policing skills. These descriptives do resonate with HP Police, the Himachal Pradesh Police to some extent succeed in not only transforming itself but developing all the professional and policing skills to a great extent that almost every police force aspires to achieve. The dedicated team of senior officers under the able leadership of Himachal DGP Sanjay Kundu made every milestone achievable, possibly because of Kundu's mastery of the "Art of Long View" which made every strategy and planning fall in the right place at the right time. Sources in the power corridors say that Himachal Police will continue to imbibe lessons learned by its leader after he demits the office of DGP.
