After parents, teachers hold one of the most important places in our lives. Their image and teachings remain etched in our memories because of the indelible impact they leave on our lives."Dwivedi further said that education is not only confined to marks, examinations or medals but also lies in developing good values, compassionate behaviour, empathy towards others, social skills, discipline, efficiency and the right approach towards work and life. These qualities enable a person to become a complete human being and lead a meaningful and fulfilling life. Therefore, equal emphasis must be given to informal and value-based learning along with formal education.
The Chairman, NDMC, said that on this Teachers’ Day, I urge every teacher to take a simple pledge—to learn at least one new thing every day and record it in a diary. If you follow this practice consistently, after 365 days you will realise that you have achieved something truly significant—a year enriched by 365 new learnings for abetter future life.He also urged that teachers should remain completely focused on their most important responsibility of shaping the future of our children. Administrative matters will be taken care of by the administration; teachers should devote their fullest energy to education and character-building.
