The Supreme Court today directed UPSC and MHA to finalize the process of appointment of DGP Nagaland on or before December 19. Further, the bench comprising CJI DY Chanrachud and P.S Narishmha refused to grant 60 days time to UPSC to finalize the name of Nagaland DGP. Moreover, the bench warned that failure to comply with its directions may lead to the use of "coercive arms of law" . Top Sources reacting to this development have said that since Center tactics to delay the appointment have miserably failed, the government would now either go for inter cadre deputation or make some calculations in the UPSC panel because the center has very limited space to make a choice from UPSC panel sources suggest.
