Senior IPS K. Padamkukar Is Likely To Be Next Kerala DGP, But 2 Officers Trail Him: Merit or Seniority?

K Padamkumar IPS officer Kerala 1989 batch who is presently posted as DG, Prisons, Kerala Police is likely to be the next Kerala DGP.  The present incumbent DGP Anil Kant is scheduled to superannuate on 30th June 2023. Top sources say that Padamkumar is frontrunner for the top post, however T.K Vinod Kumar IPS: 1992, presently Intelligence Chief and Shaik Darvesh(1990) serving as DG Fire Services are trailing him. Top sources add that it would be interesting to see the seniority and merit game in selecting the DGP. If seniority goes then Padakmukar is clear winner but if merit gets more weight then It won't be surprsing to see a DGP who have bypassed seniors.
