Silence Over CAPF DG Appointments, An Interesting Power Shift In Offing?
Unexplainable silence over the appointment of BSF DG, SSB DG, and soon one more vacancy would arise, NDRF DG. Mysterious silence over appointments and keeping things low-profile indicates that something is simmering in the power corridors. Testing the patience of bright officers despite a clear playfield waiting for them also indicates that the stage is quietly prepared for a major power shifting show, top sources suggest. Power corridors was swamped with confirmation tickets of Sanjay Kundu getting the DG BSF. But, surprisingly, Kundu was asked to hold in Himachal while Thaousen got the additional charge. Two weeks passed and no clarity over the appointments was seen. However, for a few days, something interesting is simmering in South Block. Top sources say that Sanjay Kundu will likely head to J&K as its DGP. Nothing much to explain about this probable adjustment, Kundu is already a hill police expert, full stars on policing skills, though, counter-terrorism operations would be one challenge for Kundu but his BSF experience and strategically bent methods will come in handy. What is more convincing is currently J&K needs both soft and hard power approaches and Kundu knows well to use both of them, top sources say. "G-20 is on the head, a strategically sound DGP is absolutely necessary, if Kundu gets there, it will be one of the calculative strategic decisions of top brass", power corridors reckons. As far as the fate of the current J&K DGP is concerned, his desperate attempts for central deputation might succeed now. Top sources say that Dilbag Singh would get NDRF DG, once Karwal returns to Gujarat. In such circumstances, P.V Ramasastry has an opportunity to seize- probably the next BSF DG. Although, These adjustments might be argued on various points, however, the current political dispensation is famous for preparing such adjustments, top sources say.
