Supreme Court Raises Concern Over Extending Tenure of ED Chief.

In a major development, the Supreme Court has raised concern over extending the tenure of the ED Chief and said that it cant continue extending the ED Chief term indefinitely. The Supreme Court observed that government cannot continue extending the tenure of ED Chief on the pretext of investigation of crucial cases or till completion of investigation of crucial cases. The bench of Justices L Nageshwara Rao and Br Gavai replied:  “We appreciate that he is doing good work. But you cannot continue with him till all these cases are over. The task of the Enforcement Directorate is very important. You cannot leave it to one individual to complete it.”
