Three Name Panel Sent To Government For Appointment of Next Odisha DGP

As incumbent Odisha DGP Y.B Khurania is set to complete his fixed tenure in the next few months, i.e., August 2026. The Odisha Police HQ has sent a three-member panel to the state government, which in turn will submit it to UPSC for shortlisting names for the next DGP. According to sources, the three names are as follows 

1- Sudhanshu Sarangi, IPS, 1990 batch

2- Susanta Kumar Nath, IPS, 1993 batch

3- R.P Koche, IPS 1993 batch

As per the recent Supreme Court Observations and UPSC guidelines, a panel consisting of three eligible DGP rank officers must be submitted at least three months before the retirement of the incumbent DGP.
