BJP Loosing Confidence In Senior Leader Jayant Choudhary?

BJP Loosing Confidence In Senior Leader Jayant Choudhary?

The grandson of Charan Singh and son of Ajit Singh, Jayant Choudhary, is a state minister with independent charge in the central government ministry. His entire politics surrounds the legacy of his grandfather and father, but he claims to be a disputed leader of the Kisans, according to a source. He is a minister with independent charge, but his ministry is always waiting for funds to come.

Though his party contested on 33 seats in the last Assembly elections, it could win only on eight seats, and later he, with his party, became a part of the NDA, leaving the alliance with the SP, sources say. In the 2024 parliamentary elections, the BJP considered his claim on two seats only, the source says. Recently, Jayant met Piyush Goyal, his meditator with the BJP and requested discussions on the seat adjustments for the coming UP Assembly elections. GOYAL arranged his meeting with a very senior party leader. In the meeting, he desired at least 35  seats to contest, a source says.

It's learned that the leader bluntly told him that because he has two parliamentary seats, his request for this many seats is not feasible, and the party is likely to consider 10/15 seats maximum for him as a special case, because this time the party wants winnable candidates only to contest, source says. It was also suggested that 4/5 seats are likely to be added, but the candidates will be from the BJP, and the symbol of the RLD source says. Jayant returned to Piyush Goyal and narrated the entire discussion and his dissatisfaction. Perhaps Piyush Goyal convinced him to accept the request of the senior leader for the present in the interest of the party, the alliance and promised that his interest would be taken care of in the future as well, according to a source.
