Captain Amarinder Singh's Importance In Punjab Election

 The results of an internal survey conducted by the Congress have forced not only the Congress but also the AAP and the BJP to change their strategies for the Punjab assembly elections, a source says. Ajay Makan has submitted the report to Rahul Gandhi. The report says that if the Congress party woos the Jat Sikh and Dalit voters, the possibility of winning the state elections would increase, the source says. This has forced the party high command to retain the state party president, Amarinder Singh Warring, as is, and to nominate the ex-CM, Charanjeet Singh Channi, a Dalit leader, as head of the state election committee to soothe his hurt feelings. Pratap Si gh Bajwa has been retained as opposition leader in the assembly, a source says. 

Side-by-side arrangement to bring back the ex-CM, Capt. Amarinder Singh also started, but the information leaked out, and Captain was immediately summoned by the BJP top leadership and offered a Rajya Sabha seat, which, as the source says politely declined. Later, he demanded to be appointed as Governor of Himachal Pradesh or Haryana, a source says. In Himachal Pradesh, Capt. has some land, and the Governor's house in Haryana is in Chandigarh, his favourite place, the source says. The outcome is still awaited, the source says.
