WITC
Ms Mamta Banerjee was very active in the selection of combined opposition candidates and aggressively placed the name of Yashwant Sinha, who was till recently before nomination for President position member of TMC. Almost all opposition parties supported the candidature initially but as time is passing leaders of the opposition are drifting away due to some or other reasons source says. BJP very cleverly forwarded the name of one of Santhal tribal from Odisha source says. Leaders and parties working for the upliftment of tribals are in the doldrums on the opposition of Women from the tribal community. Ms Mamta Banerjee herself is finding it difficult to pursue the candidature of MR Sinha open because with great difficulty she has brought back support of Santhal from the BJP to her party and there is apprehension that open support is likely to create a setback for TMC source says. This was the reason probably in coordination committees to help Sinha in campaigning Sukhendu Shekhar Roy was nominated but in the latter part of the campaign, Roy is nowhere seen source says. It will be difficult for Ms Mamta Banerjee to pull out from this crucial position and maintain her stand source says?
