The Rajya Sabha is to elect 24  leaders on 18th June 2024. In MP there are three vacancies, two as per strength in the Assembly would go to the BJP sources say. The one to be vacated by Digvijay Singh is to go with the party sources say. Digvijay Singh has opted out of the contest after serving for two terms but wants his wife to be nominated by the party, a source says. On the other hand, the senior leader Kamalnath is eager to go to the upper house and is flexible on the condition that, if he is not nominated, at least his son Nakulnath should get the nomination, the source says.

The party leaders are not ready for the nomination of Kamalnath and his son Nakulnath, as they say both were on the verge of joining the BJP, and his continuance in the upper house would be after some time, if a source in the present ruling party says. Some want the nomination of. Dalit leader to the upper house. Jeetu Patwari, Meenakshi Natrajan and Arun Yadav are also in the race, the source says.
