In a vibrant celebration of patriotism, national pride, and unity,the Chief Minister of Delhi, Smt. Rekha Gupta,flagged off the “Tiranga Yatra” organised by the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) from Janpath Radial, Inner Circle, Connaught Place, New Delhi.

Along with the Chief Minister of Delhi, the Tiranga Yatra was joined by the Chairman, NDMC,Manoj Kumar Dwivedi; Vice Chairman, NDMC , Kuljeet Singh Chahal; Members of the Council, Dinesh Partap Singh, Anil Valmiki & Smt. Sarita Tomar, Secretary -NDMC, Rahul Singh, Senior Officers of NDMC, representatives of RWAs, MTAs and citizens of all walks of life.

The Tiranga Yatra, organised as part of the “Har Ghar Tiranga–2026” campaign, witnessed an overwhelming and enthusiastic participation of thousands of students and teachers of NDMC schools, parents, NDMC employees, distinguished dignitaries and citizens from different walks of life. Carrying the Tricolour with immense pride and enthusiasm, the participants marched together through the Inner Circle of Connaught Place, spreading the message of patriotism, unity and national solidarity.

Addressing the grand Tiranga Yatra organised on the auspicious occasion of Independence Day, Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta said that carrying the Tricolour in one’s hands and marching together is not merely a journey, but a collective expression of love, pride, respect and patriotism towards the nation. She emphasised that the Tiranga Yatra is a journey of resolve towards building a ‘Viksit Bharat’ and that the large number of children and youth participating in it are symbols of India’s new energy and strength.

The Chief Minister of Delhi said that the Yatra has emerged as a powerful medium to take Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji’s call of ‘Har Ghar Tiranga, Har Man Tiranga’ to every citizen. Every citizen marching with the Tricolour in hand is deeply connected with the national resolve of ‘Viksit Bharat @2047’. She underlined that building a Viksit Bharat cannot be achieved through government efforts alone; the collective contribution of every Indian is essential for this endeavour. She expressed confidence that the ‘Saptadhara’ envisioned by the Hon’ble Prime Minister will give fresh momentum to India’s development journey, and that every citizen will become a witness to and a contributor to this historic transformation.

Speaking about technological and industrial progress, the Chief Minister, Delhi, said that India possesses immense potential to lead in every field, including manufacturing, innovation, technology, soft skills and artificial intelligence. She said that the Viksit Bharat is not merely a dream but a mission, and that the entire nation must work towards achieving it in mission mode.

Describing children and youth as the key foundation of the Viksit Bharat, she said that when the country’s young people pursue education, think of new ideas and innovate in the national interest, India’s progress will gain a new direction and momentum. She expressed full confidence that, advancing in every sphere, India will go on to lead the world in the time to come.

NDMC Vice Chairman Kuljeet Singh Chahal says, "The Tiranga Yatra being organised today is being held under the leadership of the country’s respected Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. With the spirit that the Tricolour represents India’s honour, pride and identity, we are moving forward with a strong sense of confidence. When schoolchildren and college students participate in this Tiranga Yatra today, they do so with the belief that the vision of a Viksit Bharat by 2047 and the spirit of nation-building envisioned under the Prime Minister’s leadership can be achieved."

Chahal informed that the Yatra proceeded along the Inner Circle of Connaught Place, with participants carrying the Tricolour and raising patriotic slogans, creating an inspiring atmosphere of national pride in the heart of the capital. The march concluded after completing one full round of the Inner Circle.He also said that the participation of NDMC school students and teachers added special significance to the event, reflecting the Council’s endeavour to promote patriotism, civic consciousness and the values of responsible citizenship among young minds.

Vice - Chairman , NDMC also said that the Tiranga Yatra also provided a platform for people from diverse sections of society to come together under one national symbol, reinforcing the message that the Tricolour represents the shared identity, aspirations and unity of every Indian.The event concluded with a renewed call to citizens to actively participate in the Har Ghar Tiranga–2026 campaign and proudly display the national flag, celebrating the spirit of freedom, unity and national pride.
