One time, the strong pillar of Congress party in the state now source says after disillusionment crossed the party line and joined BJP with high hope that here his political ambitions will be fulfilled. He along with Alpesh Thakore and Jignesh Mewani prepared the pitch for the Congress party in the year 2017 and almost the party was at the brink to form a state government source says but after victory from the Raghanpur constituency on the Congress ticket left the party in 2019 and joined BJP but after that, he is almost out of sight in the political gallery after defeating from the same constituency on BJP ticket. Sources say probably Patel will meet the same fate because in 2017 the two factions: Ladwa and Kadwa are with BJP and not likely in the last elections. In 2015 the Patidar agitation created a rift between the two but now they are one so the requirement of a leader almost became zero source says. Some leaders of the BJP opined that in the 2022 elections it will be a herculean task for Patel to manage and under the circumstances, it will be interesting to see how Hardik will fulfill his ambitions?
