In The Name Of One Nation One Elections, BJP To Go For Mid Term?
The current talk in the country revolves around the concept of One Nation One Election, with the BJP considering the possibility of going for mid-term elections. Despite the Election Commission's jumps with assurances about its preparedness for such a move, the reality is that conducting elections for a few states and bye-elections simultaneously seems challenging source says. Reports suggest that the top leadership of the ruling party is eager to shed the label of a minority government and is aiming to synchronize parliamentary elections with the elections in Uttar Pradesh source says. To validate this plan, an extensive survey was conducted to gauge the actual ground situation. Surprisingly, the survey results projected that the BJP may not secure more than 125-135 seats, while the Samajwadi Party (SP) was estimated to touch around 200 seats source says. This led to efforts to convince the RSS leadership that Yogi Adityanath's performance as the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh has not been satisfactory and that a change is needed source says. It's worth noting that the RSS has been a supporter of Yogi's governance style. When the survey findings were communicated to Yogi, he dismissed them as being based on fabricated data and expressed confidence that the party would win around 250 seats if elections were to be held even today source says.
