Nitin Nabin Not Happy About Abrupt Changes?
The Bankipur assembly constituency of Patna is almost a home constituency for the present BJP president. He has represented this constituency five times, and before that, his father, Late Nabin Kishore Sinha, used to represent the seat, the source says. Nitin Nabin, after becoming the president of the BJP, resigned from the seat and became a member of the Rajya Sabha. His resignation has necessitated the by-election. Before the selection of the candidate for the seat, one of the top leaders called the president to suggest two names for the constituency, being an old acquaintance of the constituency, the source says. Nitin Nabin has suggested the name of Ajit Kumar Lali, his PA, who also worked for his father and second, his old friend Abhishek Bunty, the source says.
The senior leader advised the president that the nomination of his PA would set a bad precedent, a source says. The name of Abhishek Bunty was cleared for filing a nomination, the source says. After the announcement, another candidate from Bankipur, Prashant Kishore (PK), telephoned the senior leader to withdraw the candidature of Abhishek Bunty, otherwise he will call a press conference to say something about him, which will be quite damaging to him as well as to the party, the source says. Hurriedly, a new name, Niraj Sinha, was forwarded, and Abhisek Bunty was replaced, the source says. Before replacing Abhishek Bunty, no consultation took place between the top leader and the president, a source says. Seems this has annoyed the president, and he has not congratulated Niraj Sinha, a local leader from the same constituency, and his annoyance is likely to disturb all combinations, the source says.
