After declaring head counts based on caste, the CM of Bihar has recently said that during the winter session of assembly, he will come with for head counts based on education, social and economic basis and then only will move forward source says. As per the headcount figure presented by CM on 2nd October, the population of Bihar is 13.07 crore. Out of the total population, 36.02% are EBC,27.13% OBC,19.65% SC, 15.52% General category and 1.68% are ST source says. The government of Bihar has been working for a long social justice and is likely to increase the 50% cap on reservations source says. The backwards in General categories also have 10% reservation on an economical basis source says. RJD is having little difference on increasing reservation of Backwards and EBC and opined that inclusion of economical criteria for the reservation the cap is already gone source says. RJD further says that reservation and other benefits be given based on quantum in the society a source says.
