Odisha Future CM Now In Action?

The present CM of Odisha is a bachelor now nearing 76 years old. He was frantically searching for his successor to continue the legacy of his father, Late Biju Patnaik, ex-CM of the state. Patnaik perhaps zeroed on Pandian, a Tamilian IAS officer, who chose Odisha as cadre after marriage with Sujata Karthikeyan and served as a personal secretary to CM for a long source says. Sujata Karthikeyan Pandian is a doctor serving in the state and is also the daughter of an ex-IAS officer source says. Pandian has taken voluntary retirement and just after has been given responsibility for two important projects of the state with the status of cabinet secretary source says. An out slider can't become CM of the state in general, but Odisha has got a special approach to the subject source says. Late Biren Mitra, a Bengali was the CM in the decade of 1960 source says. Likewise, the Late Ramachandran, a Malyali very popular film star, became the CM of Tamilnadu source says. Probably on the same analogy, Pandian is likely to take charge of the state after Patnaik, though so far he is officially not inducted in the BJD but will surely become a member of the party before the 2024 parliamentary elections, source says. He is considered a very straightforward person and, before this, also considered number two in the Patnaik government a source says.
