Prashant Kishore Is Back To Desk?

Prashant Kishore Is Back To Desk?

Prashant Kishore has returned to his original line of work following the Bankipur by-election victory. The humiliating defeat in the assembly election just a few months earlier had almost sidelined him in political circles, and even those politicians who once sought his counsel began treating him differently, the source says. Such treatment probably compelled PK to prove his worth and contest the Bankipur by-election, a constituency held traditionally by the BJP for nearly 35 years, the source says. While many in political circles described his decision as “political suicide,” PK  himself termed it a referendum, the source says. The BJP candidate’s loss in Bankipur by a significant margin has given Prashant Kishore renewed confidence to begin a new phase in his career, the source says.

On 5th August, just two days after the victory, Prashant Kishore was seen at the residence of Sunetra Pawar, Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra and wife of the late Ajit Pawar, along with his son Parth Pawar, the source says. The meeting at ‘Devgiri’ reportedly lasted about five hours. This was the second meeting between Prashant Kishore and the head of the NCP (Ajit), the source says. It is rumoured that Kishore has agreed to act in the role of advisor to Sunetra Pawar. The NCP (Ajit) chief is said to be seeking a strategy for strengthening the party and expanding its support base in the coming months, the source says. Meanwhile, the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, who is himself acting as an advisor to his deputy, perhaps did not appreciate the growing closeness between the two for future programmes, the source says.
