Prashant Kishore Struglining To Regain Lost Political Relevance?

After the humiliating defeat of his party, ‘Jan Suraj ’, in the just-concluded Bihar state elections, the founder of the party and political strategist Prashant Kishore (PK) is trying to rebuild his reputation and, in this process, is approaching almost all political parties, a source says.  Mamta Banerjee, after defeat in state elections,  silently conveyed to SP chief Akhilesh Yadav against the PK, and when PK approached him, a not very encouraging signal was given to him, a source says. PK tried his best to enter the Congress party to frame the strategy, but could meet only Priyanka Gandhi, and probably with limited space in the party, she could not do anything for him, sources say.

PK also met TRS chief Chandrasekhar Rao in Hyderabad but, citing his vulnerability and past credentials,  refused to go with him, a source says. Perturbed with all the NOs, now he has decided to contest the Bankipur assembly seat vacated by the national president of the BJP. Approximately one lakh Kayasthas are living here, and the seat is considered a stronghold of the BJP, but a recent encounter of Tewari by Bihar Police has painted the BJP as anti-Agadi, and PK expects this anti-wave to likely help him in winning the seat, a source says.

To cement the possibilities, he has approached Rahul Gandhi and Tejaswi Yadav to support him, and most likely, his winning the seat would give a united opposition to the public, which would most likely give an impression of a united opposition likely to benefit in other states, a source says.  Rahul Gandhi, as understood, has agreed to it, but sources say Tejaswi Yadav differs, citing that PK has always targeted him in the past, the source says. The outcome will be interesting to watch, the source says.
