BJP is trying all tricks to retain power in Karnataka which is going for election early next year source says. The appointment of Roger Binny is the repetition of the tactics adopted by the party when Saurav Ganguly was made BCCI president in 2019 with an eye on the 2020 state elections of West Bengal source says. BJP was hopeful that Ganguli will help to get the majority in the state and once it was almost sure to project him as CM face against the TMC leader Ms Mamta Didi source says. Ganguly politely refused to become the pawn of the party source says. This time Ganguli threw a lavish dinner for the HM to convince him for a continuance but it seems the political compulsions have not worked in his favour source says. Now on the same wavelength, BJP thinks that by making Binny, the president of the BCCI, the cricket-loving voters will join hands with the party thus a great help in retaining the power source says.
