Situation In Manipur: Responsiblity And Action?

Situation In Manipur: Responsiblity And Action?

Manipur is under great trouble since 3rd May. Local different communities are not ready to see eye to eye resulting in a lot of misery for the common people source says. More than 70,000 people have already left their home and taken shelter in the neighbouring state of Mizoram and other places, sources say. Assam has very few people from Manipur due to the policy of the CM source says. The agitation started with the legal order but aggravated after weapons came in handy to the Meiteis, the majority community in the state source says. The state government tried to take back the arms and ammunition by providing deposit boxes at specific important points, but the move not yielded desired results source says. The video circulated recently was of the 3rd or 4th of May; the local intelligence units probably submitted the report to the government on the repercussions. However, all at helms were in some different illusions source says. HM visited the state capital, CM of the state also came to Delhi to apprise the situation, and based on reports, deployment of security forces increased, source says. Despite all efforts, the situation has not come to normal to date source says. The Governor, herself an Adivasi from MP, issued a statement condemning the ugly event and instructed DG and Chief Secretary to take immediate steps to ensure no repetition source says. The most crucial point to look into is why the government has not initiated efforts to stop these mob repercussions, and only after more than 70/75 days came in action, that's too after getting viral, the recorded incident source says. As per reports, the culprits have been identified, and some are taken into custody, but why now? What action was taken by people at the helms on getting information by LIU, or was it a total system failure? If so, why has the CM said this is not one case? Hundreds of such cases have been reported, and FIR lodged source says. Do the CM thinks that registering FIR is the only responsibility of the state government and that no corrective steps are required to douse down these ugly incidents source says. It's true that out of 60- 40 MLAs are from Meitei's community, and any action would have resulted in some serious repercussions for the government, but the people at the helm should think that whether to remain in power is more important than saving Asmita from women in the state source says.
