Tamil Nadu Not Ready For National Politics?
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) introduced Annamalai as the state president amid much anticipation and optimism source says. Despite being given a ticket for Coimbatore, a party stronghold, Annamalai unfortunately lost the election. This led to the party leadership becoming incensed with his perceived lack of performance and they sought an explanation from him. Instead of providing an explanation, Annamalai applied for a three-month leave to study leadership program abroad, and also expressed that Tamil Nadu was not ready for a national politics source says. This decision further aggravated the party leadership, and the future of Annamalai within the party remains uncertain, pending his return or during his absence period source says.
