Tomar Is Back In MP Politics- Set For Scindia?
The BJP has nominated seven members of parliament to contest assembly elections. Out of seven three are ministers in the present central government. The agriculture minister, Narendra Singh Tomar has been nominated from the Gwalior seat. Tomar was out of state politics for the last fifteen years but probably going by feedback after many surveys, the party's high commands thought to put the best bet to get elected source says. But this act is a setback for Scindia, who thinks that he is the lone leader of the Gwalior region source says. Scindia defected to the BJP after the formation of the Congress government. This resulted in down downfall of the Congress government and the BJP formed the government with the help of assembly members who went along with Scindia source says. Six members have gone back to the Congress party from Scindia camp source says. After this happened, BJP leadership thinks that Scindia has lost control over his loyalists and of course voters also source says. Tomar and Scindia are rivals in the area and always fight for supremacy. The act indicates that the BJP thinks that Tomar is more powerful in the area, not a good sign for the future politics of Scindia in BJP source says. Scindia will also not be welcomed back in Congress because Kamalnath and Digvijay Singh will not accept him in state politics source says.
