Yogi Is Under Pressure For The Caste Census?
After the declaration of the head counts by the Bihar government, the supporting parties of the BJP government in UP started raising their voice for the caste-based census source says. They want to know the actual strength of OBC etc to derive schemes following strength, a source says. As per the Hukum Singh Committee report constituted in 2001, the population of Kurmis are only second to Yadav in the state source says. As per the report, the Yadavs are 19.4%, and Kurmis are 7.4% under the OBC category source says. The report further mentions that in total 50% OBC, Nishad, Mallah and Kewat combined is approximately 4.3%, and Bhar and Rajbhar are 2.4%. Lodh- is 4.8%, and Jats are 3.6% source says.
