As Race for CISF DG Posts Heats Up, Reshuffle Or New Appointments?

The present CISF DG Nina Singh is scheduled to retire this month and following her next month DG Narcotics Control Bureau S.N Pradhan will retire. The hunt for successors has begun, and the possibilities of additional charges are also being considered. The potential reshuffle in these agencies is not only a matter of interest but also a significant development. The appointments of CISF and Narcotics DG will interestingly set the stage for the appointment of DG CRPF at the end of the year.  Top sources say that Special DG BSF Yogesh Khurania seems to be the frontrunner for the post of DG CISF. However, DG SSB Daljit Chaudhary's paramilitary experience and suitability for CISF cannot be ignored. It's most likely that Chaudhary could be shifted to CISF as its DG and Khurania would get charge of DG SSB or DG Narcotics next month. As most of the promising frontrunners are expected to be settled by next month, the real game of DG CRPF later this year would start by early November. As North Block's practice suggests, an additional charge would function in CRPF if the establishment wouldn't find a suitable successor from the 1990-1991 batch.
