Despite Unsatisfactory Record, A DANIPS officer Lobbying Hard To Get Transfer Order Cancelled And Why This Circus Is Problematic?
A DANIPS officer of 2011 batch who recently transferred to Lakshwadeep Is lobbying hard to cancel his transfer order. Top sources say that this DANIPS officer recently met top brass of MHA in this regard. Top sources add that this DANIPS officer was sent out of Delhi after the former Delhi Police Commissioner noted his unsatisfactory performance on the field. One officer in condition of anymonity said "When he was in South District, he worked under influence of evil-minded builders and was involved in corrupt business/ syndicate". Futhermore, it has been said that he has also been associated with Delhi Police Power brokers sydncidate which ran in Delhi Police Headquarters under watch of former Police Commissioner a few years back.
A senior officer, commenting on the situation, expressed concern over the 'Desperate lobbying by mid-lower rank officers in MHA '. He painted a grim picture of a bureaucratic culture at risk of losing its discipline and protocol due to such lobbying.
While the culture of cancelling transfers is not uncommon among IPS officers, it should be limited to genuine cases. The increasing prevalence of this culture, especially among lower ranks, is alarming, particularly when it involves officers with a history of corruption and unsatisfactory performance. The MHA has become a circus ground for these transfer posting lobbies in recent months, and it is imperative that the newly appointed Home Secretary takes swift action to address this issue.
