Former Intelligence Bureau Chief In Race For Punjab Governor?

Former Intelligence Bureau Chief In Race For Punjab Governor?

According to top sources, it has been learned that a former Director of the Intelligence Bureau who is soon to complete his tenure as a member of a statutory body is lobbying hard for the Punjab governor. As the government makes calibrative calculations for the next Punjab Governor, top sources say that a Tamil Nadu-like formula is in the works, but for some, it is hard to materialize. The government of the day usually has four streams to pick- a professional and experienced civilian, a bureaucrat, a political figure and the judiciary. However, in the recent past, the bureaucrat stream has been put on the back burner, and the politico-civilian stream is becoming a good choice. However, few states have a different politico-administrative environment, which demands a shift from regular choices, and therefore,  there is a chance of springing a surprise from the bureaucrat's stream.
