IB's Man Weighs His CAPF Options?

IB's Man Weighs His CAPF Options?

Amidst the usual silence about DG appointments in CAPF, one name from IB has emerged. Vivek Srivastava, presently Special Director IB, is now quietly rippling in the power corridors to get a berth in CPAF. Earlier, Srivastava's name was doing rounds of NPA, but it did not materialize well, Top sources say that Srivastava has its own calculations and foresight as he has two years left, and he can certainly aim for big shots. However, it is not as easy as it looks, uncertainty in calculations will remain as the present incumbent, Tapan Deka, has a bright chance for a one-year extension. Even if that does not happen, chances of Srivastava will remain uncertain due to multiple politico-admin factors, top sources say. A.S Rajan, who lost the race near the finishing line a year ago, serves a glaring uncertainty that has now surrounded the post of Director of Intelligence Bureau, where even the strongest ones have to be aware of the grey road to become the next spymaster. The CAPF chance where top guns are now landing in the pool of contention shows the fast-changing picture of competition among the top guns.
