IPS Officers "CBI" Obsession Increasing, After Gujarat its Karnataka

Since the centre modified the central deputation tenure policy, there has been a flow of young SP-level officers in central agencies, especially in the CBI; out of them, the Gujarat cadre was the frontrunner in the central deputation race, but now it seems Karnataka cadre is leading the central deputation race. Currently, there are 42 vacancies at the SP level in CBI. Top sources say 26 SP-rank IPS officers from the 2012 batch and Karnataka cadre have been cleared for central deputation. Top sources say that most of them will land in the CBI as vacancies in the CBI at the SP level are quite high, followed by IB with 32 vacancies. Other organizations, like BPR&D, NIA, and NPA, have a few posts vacant. BPR&D has four posts, NIA has six, and NPA has seven.  Though young officers tend to move to CBI and NIA more, it has been said that the number of officers seeking central deputation might increase next year.
