Once you head a force and demit it after completing your tenure, you may carry the respect and warmth but not the command.  However,  Delhi Police Commissioners perhaps think that the halo effect of a Delhi Police Commissioner is omnipresent. According to top sources, some of these former CPs have stepped into the professional world post-retirement, and now they tend to use their power or prestige to create influence and pressure to push their innings in their professional world. However, the treatment of some of former Police Commissioners indicates otherwise. One former CP desperately tried to reach one Special CP but was given a cold shoulder. Similarly a very recent case, one former Police Commissioner tried to use its influence in Delhi Police to register a case against a professional rival, but Delhi Police chose to remain aloof from influences, and as a result, former CP's attempt to register a case failed. Sources add that this former CP is now exploring some other state for registration of the case. "Such events are concerning, but Delhi Police knows how to maintain transparency in power games," a top source said. Delhi Police Commissioners must realise that once they exit Jai Singh Marg, they only carry lessons, warmth, and respect but not command.
