Parent Cadre Once Again Looks Upto Rashmi Shukla
The present DGP of Maharashtra is set to retire by the year's end, names are gradually floating for the next DGP, but the Maharashtra Government seems to be again looking at the center. Recently, the court has finally closed the case against Rashmi Shukla, which suffered a setback a few time back when the court rejected the closure report. Shukla is now in clean waters with no grey clouds over her, and this has once again sparked a murmuring about her return to parent cadre as Maharashtra DGP in December. Shukla, by the end of the year, will have six months to become eligible for the DGP race, and if she succeeds, she will get two years fixed tenure. Top sources say that DG SSB can be seen as a temporary adjustment for her. Since elections are due next year and being seniormost at DG level in the cadre having good equations with the top political brass in Maharashtra, Shukla has bright chances to return to the cadre now, which earlier seemed grey by admin-legal issues between center and state, top sources said.
