Power Games In IAS And IPS Lobby Begins To Take Shape

With three Chief Secretaries/Adviser along with one DGP and CAPF DG are set to retire by this month's end or next, power games in the IAS and IPS lobby seem to have begun taking shape in power corridors. Chief Secretaries Three three UTs, J&K, Chandigarh and Delhi, are retiring by this month's or next month's end. Whereas J&K DGP Dilbagh Singh and CRPF DG S.L Thousen are scheduled to retire by this month's end(a few days from now). Top sources say that many from UT cadre are trying hard for Chandigarh. Arunachal Chief Secretary Dharmendra, NDMC Chairperson Amit Yadav, Goa's Chief Secretary Puneet Goel, Prashant Goel of J&K and Arunachal Sharat Chauhan are said to be in the race. For J&K Chief Secretary, not two but three names are in consideration: Atal Dullo IAS(1989), currently in MHA Raj Kumar Goel IAS(1990) in J&K and Shantmanu of 1991 batch, presently Additional Secretary&FA in Food Distribution Department, Government of India. In the DGP race, Dilbagh Singh may get his successor, most likely from the cadre, R.R Swain IPS(1991 batch); currently, J&K CID's Chief is said to succeed Singh. Top sources add that two cases are going to be interesting: one is Delhi's Chief Secretary, and the other one is S.L Thousen. Sources say that Thousen will most likely get a service extension for some other assignment.
