Rakesh Asthana To Get One More Service Extension But Government Exploring More Options?

In a major development in the power corridors, sources say that the present Delhi Police Commissioner Rakesh Asthana Is likely to get one more service extension.? However, some sources also say that due to some constraints Government is also brainstorming more options for the next Delhi Police Commissioner. The current mood of the Government in the bureaucracy is putting merit and competence first even if it requires superseding the seniority factor. The appointment of Tapan Deka as IB Chief evidences this fact. The superseding appointments are usually rare but may become a new precedent in the coming time in bureaucracy and if we go by this then we can see some surprise in Delhi Police as well.
