State Police Reshuffle And Incoming DG Appointment, Another 1988 Batch IPS Puts His Luck To Test

State Police Reshuffle And Incoming DG Appointment, Another 1988 Batch IPS Puts His Luck To Test

Recently, Tripura Police has seen a high ranking reshuffle where Anurag, who recently returned from CBI, got into the second in-command position and the present incumbent, Saurabh Tripathi, moved to Headquarters. Top sources say that this reshuffle has put Anurag an inch closer to the post of Tripura DGP. This reshuffle also perhaps is influenced by State DGP's Amitabh Ranjan months long calculations for central deputation.  Still having two years left and belonging to the slot of senior leading batch(1988) Ranjan has a good chance to see his central deputation prospects. Repatriated to State from Intelligence Bureau in 2022 after Tapan Deka took over as IB Chief has almost hinted that all those IB echelons accommodated outside are settled, however, Manoj Yadava's exit from NHRC and moving in a paramilitary setup(RPF) a few months back has changed the perception of being "settled or dumped". Those officers of 1988 batch who have the "time benefit" can put their luck to test. Following the suit, Amitabh Ranjan has also put his luck to test, but with the emergence of the 1989-1990 batch, it's highly unlikely that Ranjan would get a paramilitary accommodation. Top sources say that Ranjan is most likely to move if center clears him, then it would most likely be DG NHRC. Though it sounds strange where one leaves State DGP for a less significant post of DG(Investigation) in NHRC, but that is what Ranjan have on his plate currently. But if things surprisingly worked for him, then one cannot deny some plump accommodation.
