After NIA got a new boss, there were some changes taking place at various levels in the agency, be it at the institutional level or at the individual level. Recently, a significant addition to the agency's daily affairs is maintaining a morning diary. Morning Dairy is like 24 24-hour progress report maintained by the police force, usually at the SP and DIG level, which gets timely reviewed by superiors. Top sources say that a similar practice has also been introduced in the NIA by the newly appointed DG Sadanand Date, where Date has asked the hierarchy in the agency to maintain a morning diary. Top sources in the power corridors say that perhaps this is the first time that an investigating agency is introducing such field-like procedures to enforce more accountability and transparency.
