Two DGPs Gunning For DG BSF

After the abrupt departure of Nitin Agarwal, the DG SSB has been entrusted with an additional charge of DG BSF. The force is currently witnessing all-round challenges from its Western to Eastern fronts. In the interim arrangement, Chaudhary is professionally and operationally competent, but he is already engaged with one  force SSB. Few DGs have successfully managed multiple forces in the past, but the present situation is quite grim. The borders and top sources say that MHA is considering a full-fledged DG at the BSF helm soon, underscoring the importance of this decision. Top sources say UP DGP Prashant Kumar and Bihar DGP R.S Bhatti are under the Ministry's consideration. Both the DGPs are doing well in their respective states, along with Kumar's and Bhatti's policing management and paramilitary experience. Amidst all this, what is more important is that both officers have good operational temperament and a decent time of one year in hand. For the time being, Chaudhary will continue, but challenges emerge, and BSF requires a full-time DG.
