As always this time also demand for the ticket became a difficult task for the parties. SP has faced tough opposition in adjusting Annu Tandon and his three followers by party chief going away from established norms sources say. The party workers shouted slogans against the chief and Annu Tandon and some took the oath to work against the leaders of the party and help BJP. Dinesh Sharma, Deputy Chief Minister in BJP government wanted to have the ticket from Lucknow Cantt, sources say which was denied and not happy with the decision announced not to contest, similarly, Mrs Reeta Bahuguna, sitting MP from Prayagraj tried her best for the ticket to her son from Lucknow Cantt, which was denied sources say she has gone on record that she will take sanyas from politics. All parties are facing similar problems in the state and it will be interesting to see how much damage will be done by these leaders to their respective parties?
