As Haryana Chief Secretary Tenure Draws To A Close, State Government Seeks Repatriation of Senior IAS Officers
The Haryana Government has sought repatriation of Haryana cadre IAS officers presently on central deputation. According to sources, the Haryana Government has written to the Center seeking repatriation, citing a shortage of officers at crucial levels in the Haryana administration. The Haryana government reportedly sought repatriation of four IAS officers, namely Secretary Transport V Umashankar IAS: 1993 batch, Additional Secretary Health Rakesh Gupta (IAS: 1997), Additional Secretary Commerce, Nitin Kumar Yadav (IAS: 2000), and Commissioner KVS Vikas Gupta (IAS: 2001).
Interestingly, the Haryana Chief Secretary is set to complete his extended tenure in December, and recalling a senior IAS officer from the 1993 batch to the cadre suggests a quiet succession at the helm of the Chief Secretary, or at least at the crucial administrative posts, top sources said.
